The Theory Part—

In college, I was given a scholarship to join the speech and debate team (nerd alert!). It was definitely some of the most fun I had in college, but more than that, it was one of my top 5 influential classes.
Learning how to write speeches, taught me the value of using formulas to help craft a more persuasive and engaging speech. A formula doesn’t make it generic, it makes it impactful.
Writing marketing pieces is surprisingly similar. The great thing is that there are marketing formulas that are proven to work and the best part is that they’re also simple and easy to use once you know about them.

I didn’t start out as a Portland web designer. I actually worked for 10 years at a global company, creating brands and marketing for the materials that go into footwear and outdoor gear. I never thought much about the materials on my sneakers before but having gone to Asia to see how the products were made was fascinating to me.
I saw how important it is to tell the story of products and companies in a beautiful and engaging way. How beautiful design and creativity can help set the stage for a more engaging way to tell people what’s so unique and special about your business.
As a web designer, I’ve found that uncovering what’s truly unique about your business and telling that story, in a creative way is the part of web design that I love most.
