Frequently Asked Questions
-
Like many tech companies. Squarespace doesn’t have a phone number you can call. Their live chat and email support can be very helpful though and I encourage you to give that a try. If you need more hands on help, hiring a professional that can fix the problem for you, or walk you through how to fix it, can be invaluable and can save precious hours.
-
Yes! Squarespace designers often specialize only in that platform, which means they can be highly specialized and well informed. Squarespace now has a rating system for their designers (Platinum, Gold & Silver). For Platinum level designers, we get prioritized support, 25% off annual Squarespace plans and are vetted as the most experienced designers for our platform.

The cost to hire an expert can vary depending on the designer and the help needed. If you have an existing site and need some updates, Design Power Hours are $200 and VIP Design Days cost $1200. Expertise in Squarespace often means hundreds of hours honing our craft to be able to deliver you a premium product and design experience.

This is a great question that really depends on where you’re starting from. Some common updates to focus on are building robust sales pages, optimizing your site for search engines and keeping content similar while doing a design refresh.
-
Once you’ve build out your site, go to the settings icon (the gear icon on the bottom of your Squarespace sidebar menu). First make sure you’ve connected your domain to your website. Then under the website tab, choose Site Availability and change it from Private or Password protected to “Public”. You’ll need to select a plan and pay with your card before going Public.

Squarespace can be amazing for most businesses. Downsides of using Squarespace are mostly for large websites with complex backends, custom interfaces or apps, and government websites that need more control and privacy than Squarespace allows. I work mostly with small and medium businesses and organizations and find that for my clients, Squarespace is often the best fit because of its ease of use, robust app integration, SEO and all-in-one interface.
